I've been a police officer for two years with the Humboldt Police Dept.. It's a small town with one chief, six full-time offices and one reservice officer. Most of the officers have many years of experience and sometimes seem not to be as ambitious as they were when they first started in law enforcement. All of us know officers who fit that description. But I recently found out through first hand experience that there is one thing that we all have in common. When an officer calls in a 10-78 ("officer needs assistance" they all come running to help out. It’s that loyalty that allows me to be with my family every night. I'm very proud to be in law enforcement and could never see myself doing anything else.
