| Ozzy miffed at Sheriff |
|
According to the Associated Press, Sheriff Paul Laney invited 500 people with outstanding warrants to a fake party featuring an appearance by Osbourne at a nightclub in Fargo, North Dakota, just ahead of an actual Ozzy concert at a nearby arena. Around 30 people showed up to the police sting and were arrested. Osbourne, never really known as a “tough on crime” kind of guy, believes the operation has damaged his reputation. In addition, he’s making a formal complaint. “Instead of holding a press conference to pat himself on the back, Sheriff Laney should be apologizing to me for using my name in connection with these arrests,” Ozzy told reporters. “It is insulting to me and to my audience and it shows how lazy this particular sheriff is when it comes to doing his job.” Sheriff Laney was unflappable. “We meant no disrespect toward Mr. Osbourne or his show,” Laney said. “What we did was a very creative law enforcement technique to lure individuals who had active criminal warrants to come to us.” |

It’s actually amazing that Ozzy Osbourne has enough brain cells left to be upset. But that’s just what the legendary rocker is after a sheriff used Ozzy’s celebrity as bait to round up a bunch of dimwits with outstanding warrants.
