KSTP reports : "Schneider, who was joined at the hospital by his wife and children, has squeezed his wife's hand and given a thumbs-up sign, according to a family member."

I hope this is the first step to a full recovery. Thank you Officer Schneider, and your family - may you be together again soon at home.

Funeral was yesterday.

First LODD funeral I've been to. Incredibly moving and honorable, while incredibly sad. It's the largest funeral in the history of Lake City.

I saw Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept, the Wyoming Highway Patrol, Chicago PD, Fargo PD, U.S. Border Patrol, and a dept from Canada there (I couldn't read the name on their patch).

A couple of our guys went, but I was unable to, had sick kids to take care of. I just watched a video of the prosession of squads and its impressive the amount of support that showed.
