Judge upholds MN Intoxilyzer use
In a loss for hundreds of people arrested on suspicion of DWI, a Minnesota state court judge has found that the Intoxilyzer 5000EN's problems and limitations "do not materially impair accuracy, validity, or reliability of the results."

I wish the state of WA would go to a modern one. Preferably a field use one. The one they use is so old it's pathetic.

The MN BCA is getting rid of the Intoxilyzer 5000's this year. Right now, they're testing the DataMasters. I should be getting my notice in the next couple of months to be certified on that. As a current Intox operator, I get priority for re-cert.

I'd love to get to an intox class, but because of the new machines they're getting, it's gonna be awhile before I can.
Our jail runs all of our breath tests. Pretty sure we're one of the only departments in the state where the jail staff runs the test, not an officer. The jail recently switched over to only running our tests if we don't have an intox operator working. Considering we only have two on the department, they still run most of our tests. No one has greater love than this, to lay down ones life for ones friends - John 15:13
