Not a good year...
Police fatalities jump 37 percent in 2010 - Washington Times
These so-called cluster killings of more than one officer helped make 2010 a particularly dangerous year for law enforcement. Deaths in the line of duty jumped 37 percent to about 160 from 117 the year before, according to numbers as of Dec. 28 compiled by the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, a nonprofit that tracks police deaths.
There also was a spike in shooting deaths. Fifty-nine federal, state and local officers were killed by gunfire in 2010, a 20 percent jump from last year's figures, when 49 were killed. And 73 officers died in traffic incidents, a rise from the 51 killed in 2009, according to the data. That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.
If I lived every day like it was my last, the body count would be staggering.

It was a bad year, I just hope this isnt the start of a trend.
RIP to all my brothers and sisters who made the ultimate sacrifice this last year and all years prior. Rest easy as we have the watch now."An Unarmed man can only flee from evil, and evil is not overcome by fleeing from it." Jeff Cooper

Please be as safe as possible.
I know accidents do occur but hopefully those too will be kept to a minimum.http://www.odmp.org/officer/16551-de...l-eron-shannon
Police Officers put themselves at risk for strangers every day. Some do not make it home to their families. Next time you think of saying something negative about the police, remember...YOU are one of the strangers.
