Police Foil Suspected Armed Cash Van Heist
Suspected Cash Van Heist Is Foiled By Met Police In Ruislip, London | UK News | Sky News
I especially like this quote from a bystanderPolice foiled a suspected armed heist on a security cash van in a busy street by lying in wait and rugby-tackling two men to the ground.
Officers pounced as the suspects attempted to make off on a high-powered motorbike.
Shocked bystanders in Ruislip High Street, north-west London, watched as the pair were arrested and taken away for questioning before they got anywhere near their suspected target – a security van believed to be dropping off cash at a HSBC branch.
Grabbing criminals in the act is probably the most satisfying part of this job the look on their face when they realise there are loads of you and there going down hard is priceless. One eyewitness described seeing up to 20 police waiting in unmarked cars – including a number of firearms officers carrying machine guns and pistols.
He told Sky News Online: "It looked like the police had definitely had a tip-off.

It's the classic British understatement that I love. It's a great change from the American habit of exaggeration.
