Police ticket woman, 82, for doing 110 mph
GRESHAM, Ore. - An 82-year-old woman running late for an appointment got a $1,103 traffic ticket for doing 28 mph over her age on Thursday, Oregon State Police said.
Trooper Mike Reel spotted a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville on Highway 26 west of Gresham Thursday morning coming at him at a high rate of speed with its hazard lights on. Reel got a radar reading on the car of 110 mph - double the posted 55 mph speed limit.
Reel turned around and stopped the car. The driver, Marcia Brandon, 82, of Rhododendron, told Reel she was en route to a scheduled appointment but wasn't aware she was driving that fast, police said.

I got an elderly lady at 81mph coming into a 35mph zone. The reason for the speed: Late for church! This was on a 2 lane county road.
