Oregon Police Officer Asked to Leave Vegan Coffee Shop
Police Officer James Crooker was asked to leave the vegan coffee shop in Portland, Ore., last month, a discriminatory move but not altogether uncommon at the java joint, a detective told FoxNews.com.

I just watched a video including a short interview with the manager. vid
Trying to get the lady's blog to load (woman talking to officer when this happened), but it seems to be getting hammered. http://www.corneliaseigneur.com/wher...cup-of-coffee/

Dear John,
Since you feel uncomfortable when a police officer simply makes a purchase from your establishment, I'm certain you'd feel uncomfortable if a police officer were to respond to your establishment for any other reason as well. I'd like to take this moment to thank you for removing yourself from the myriad of locations and situations which require law enforcement assistance and/or interaction. In these tough economic times, officers are spread thin within the community and knowing where they are not needed certainly frees them up to other community demands.
Sincerely,

Anyone who hasn't experienced this where they live, I know several of us here from Washington or Oregon who would be glad to show you that it is true.

Someone just put themselves on the radar. Bet business will suck for you now with all of the Officers paying attention to your clientele.

The comments at the end of the lady's blog were priceless. Most Liberals are so open- minded , fair natured and enlightened.
I just love them to death. I bet they don't allow service members in uniform in their little world either. I'm tempted to hop a flight to Portland and go to this little hell hole , buy a cup of coffee , sit down ,take my jacket off and reveal my badge, weapon and cuffs in all their glory. When they ask me to leave , I'll refuse to go till I finish my coffee. Who are they going to call , the police? I know for a fact they aren't going to make me leave.
If I were an illegal immigrant I guess I would be welcomed to stay. Rightly so they couldn't make a person of color leave their premises but it's alright if that color is blue. That's what I feel like doing but I won't because I wouldn't want to spend a dime in that dump. Ofc. Crooker handled the situation with style and class. I see it happening every day , this country is slowly becoming the liberal" paradise" that the " Progressives" want. There is no room for tolerance for someone else's values or viewpoints. Just go away....... Until something truly evil happens threatening them and your needed........again.

I just cannot fathom this. I am sure there a places here that would rather not have an officer in the business but they would not even consider asking them to leave. That kind of gall and audacity just blows my mind.

No shit. An associate and I spend about 30 min or more in one coffee spot every morning and we have usual people that come in and chat it up with us. After that cup of Joe we can tell you just about everything that has happened within a 15 mile radius of that place. At one time we were told we spent to much time in there (by an admin), so we stopped. Complaints started coming in because we were no longer "being good friendly cops". Now, once in a while the Sheriff himself hangs out with us. Funny how that works.
This manager/owner is the same ilk of people that are trying to turn this county upside down. The cops are the predators, our service men and women are the bad guys, the flag is shit ect. Those that don't believe in something will fall for anything every time.

Looks like a business is due for an audit - maybe daily inspections of all their licenses. I might want to park outside of their place, drink someone else's beverages, and make sure every single customer is obeying every single law on the books. You know - just to protect them.

Unfathomable and unreal is right. If this ever happened within my earshot, I guarantee you that I would NEVER do business in that establishment again. Plus I would tell all my friends and ask them to do likewise.
I might be tempted to cause a scene. Who are they going to call? The Police? Excuse me, Mr Manager, You just kicked them out. What a bunch of sorry-assed losers that do this.

Just what in the world do they think they're doing??? Can they really be that stupid? What if one of the employee's or customers needed medical attention? Or what if someone decided to come in and rob the place?
Unbelievable! I'd like to go there and tell them exactly what I think of their business practices.
edited to add.....

There are a few groups on Facebook about boycotting the cafe. I put a link to the article on my Facebook page and wherever else I could.
I think it's important to let civilians know this is what's happening to officers and that we're outraged by it. Maybe this can help in the are of LE support.http://www.odmp.org/officer/16551-de...l-eron-shannon

Sounds like the kind of place that could use an I-9 inspection. Every business is supposed to have I-9 paperwork, showing their employees can "Legally" work. Be their employees US citizens, resident aliens or certain classes of non-immigrants who are allowed to work.
ICE can conducts such inspections, they're administrative in nature, but, due to current administration policies they aren't conducted as frequently as they could be or once were. Case in point, you haven't heard about any large scale immigration "raids" on factories or businesses, have you.Rick James hair was synthetic and smelled like weed and coochie.
