Pregnant Woman Helps Pull Teens Off Officer
ALTON - Angela Gutierrez says she had to do something when she saw a police officer being attacked.
"Nobody wants to be in that situation," she says.
Gutierrez, who is nine months pregnant, was driving down the road with her husband and child, when she saw a group of teens attack a police officer.
The Alton officer was called to the scene to break up a fight. Before arriving he already knew he would need help and called for backup. The teens the officer spotted refused to cooperate. Instead, they attacked.
Dashcam video recorded sounds of the teens beating the officers repeatedly.
Help finally arrived for the officer. It wasn't another officer. It was Gutierrez, whose baby is due in two weeks.
She says, "Something felt like I had to help. I told the guys to leave him alone."

The woman deserves a big hug.
For attacking the officers, the teens deserve some serious attention...maybe some good hard labor for a year or more, I don't know, but they sure deserve some harsh punishment that they will remember for quite some time.
I'm glad the officers are going to be okay.http://www.odmp.org/officer/16551-de...l-eron-shannon

I'm glad no one was seriously injured in this fiasco , especially the unborn child. I can't speak for the officer involved but if it was me in his position I would just as soon she had stayed out of the confrontation as she has a little one as a top priority and I wouldn't be able to stand it if she or her baby would have been seriously injured or worse trying to help. Getting on the phone for her might have been a better choice for rendering aid. I do admire her for her courage and her heart is in the right place.

"It's a great life. You risk your skin catching killers and the juries turn them loose so they can come back and shoot at you again. If your honest , your poor your whole life. And , In the end , you wind up dying all alone on some dirty street. For what? For nothing. For a tin star."
Far from being a handicap to command, compassion is the measure of it. For unless one values the lives of his soldiers and is tormented by their ordeals , he is unfit to command.

I'd hate to be the guy who needed to be rescued by a pregnant woman. He's NEVER going to live that down.

Glad he's ok and good for her! That which does not kill me, better start fucking running.
