A woman of 34 who had sex with a 13-year-old boy was caught because his friends filmed it on a mobile phone, a court heard on Thursday.

Ruth Lee was jailed for 15 months after admitting twice having intercourse with the youngster at her home.

The mother of two teenage children claimed she did not realise how young her partner was, but was described as a 'deviant' by the judge.

Lee took the boy back to her house after meeting him on St Valentine's Day, the court heard. The pair then had sex.

The boy bragged about the encounter to friends and took some of them back to Lee's home in Gloucester the next night.

Although she was drunk, she let them in and went upstairs for sex with the 13- year-old, unaware they were being filmed on a mobile by another teenager.

The friend played the short clip to his mother, who called the police.

Derek Ryder, prosecuting, said Lee genuinely thought the boy was 16 when they first had sex.

'By the second night, she said she thought he was about 14 or 15 and knew it was wrong.

'She had genuine doubts about his age because he was inexperienced.'

Nick Fridd, defending, said Lee 'felt pushed' into having sex on both occasions.

'She feels she was set up because she was not popular locally.'

Lee, now living in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, admitted having sex with a child.

Judge Martin Picton, jailing her at Gloucester Crown Court, said: 'What you did was deviant and wrong.

'Stupid boys need to be protected from themselves.'
