Woman threatens police officers with a knife and stun gun while she gets naked

A Jackson woman accused of threatening police officers with a knife and stun gun while undressing in front of them was charged in the incident.
Tracy L. Mayfield, 37, of 611 W. Washington St. in Jackson, was charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance. She was also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and property damage.
Mayfield is accused of using a knife and stun gun to threaten Jackson officers who had responded to her home Sunday on a call of an animal nuisance. She later undressed in front of the officers while handling a sex toy, according to police.
When the responding officers arrived at Mayfield's home, she yelled from her door and threatened to use a stun gun she was wielding on the officers, according to a probable cause statement. The officers later learned that the stun gun had been switched to the "on" position.
The defendant then retrieved a knife from her apartment and threatened to use that against the officers, the statement said.
Mayfield began to throw items around in her apartment and undress, according to the statement. She approached the officers while undressed and struck the sex toy against the glass door of her apartment, according to the statement.
When Mayfield did not follow officers' requests to open the door and step outside, police forced their way inside the apartment where they found two glass pipes used for smoking methamphetamine and another used for smoking marijuana, according to a criminal complaint.
Also found were four pills of Klonopin, an anti-anxiety medication, and seven pills of Librax, a medication for the treating of peptic ulcer disease, the complaint stated. Both are prescription drugs.
A large dog that had been the cause of the animal complaint was also found at the apartment. A $5,000 bond was set for Mayfield, who was scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 31.
