NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A Long Island nun will need to say more than a few Hail Marys to make up for this one.
Sister Lauren Hanley, 68, of the St. Frances de Chantal Church in Wantagh, was arrested Tuesday and charged with misdemeanor drunken driving after police say she drank a half bottle of Gin and then got behind the wheel.
Hanley narrowly missed a group of children who were playing outside near the church before zigzagging down Hawthorne Drive and eventually crashing into a tree.
She was unhurt in the crash and faces up to a year in jail, authorities said. She was arraigned Wednesday and released on her own recognizance.
Cops say she had a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit.

Charges will be dropped. Seperation of Church and State. Who's got the right to tell her she can't go to Communion multiple times in a day, then drive?
