7-year-old child's death investigated as a homicide

WWLTV.com A 7-year-old child has died after being rushed to River Parish Hospital in St. John Parish.

Major Mike Tregre of the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office said the death is being investigated as a homicide and that the child’s parents were being questioned.

Child was beaten to death!




Not to get to in-depth but OCS has been called three separate times for this family. Mom drops kid off at hospital and hauls ass Dad shows up at Detective bureau with his attorney and Mom.



The system could have saved this child and now I hope that both parents suffer the worst possible death.

I once worked a case where a juvenile teenage mother poisoned her 14 month old child with the metal polish Brasso. OCS stepped in and took custody of the child when he was released to the hospital and turned him over to the Grandmother. The problem? The juvenile mother lived in the same home with the Grandmother. She let the mother "babysit" while she went to work. Gotta love the child protection system.

Parents, brother arrested in the death of an 8-year-old Reserve boy

St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's deputies have arrested the parents and older brother of an 8-year-old Reserve boy who died Tuesday.
Maj. Mike Tregre, a Sheriff's Office spokesman, said there were signs of physical abuse on the boy's body, but wouldn't say what they were. No other details regarding the boy's death have been released.
Authorities arrested the boy's stepfather, mother and older stepbrother, Tregre said late today.
Tregre said the boy's stepfather, Errol Victor Sr., 42, was booked with first degree murder. His mother, Tonya Victor, 33, and stepbrother, Errol Victor Jr., 21, were booked with principle to first degree murder. All three were being held in the Sherman Walker Correctional Facility in LaPlace.

Scores of deputies, along with crime scene investigators, searched the boy's home on Louisiana 3179. The boy's parents, who took him to River Parishes Hospital in LaPlace around 12:30 p.m. today, were questioned by detectives and arrested several hours later.
The boy, who was unresponsive when he arrived at the hospital, was later pronounced dead by medical personnel, Tregre said.
An autopsy is schedule for Wednesday morning to determine the cause of death.

Crime scene investigators towed away two vehicles from the Reserve home. The child's siblings were taken away from the home by child services, Tregre said.

Authorities say an 8-year-old Reserve boy may have been dead for two hours before he was taken to the hospital Tuesday and that an autopsy indicated he was beaten and dragged after he died.
The revelations were part of a bond hearing this morning in Edgard before District Court Judge J. Sterling Snowdy.
The boy's stepfather, booked with 1st degree murder, was denied bond. Bail for his mother and stepbrother, booked with accessory after the fact to murder, was set at $250,000 each.

During the hearing, St. John the Baptist Parish investigators said M.L. Lloyd III may have been dragged naked and then re-dress before his parents and stepbrother took him to River Parishes Hospital where they told medical personnel that he was unresponsive.
St. John the Baptist Parish sheriff's deputies escorted the three suspects to the courthouse in Edgard shortly before 9 a.m. in separate vehicles. All were shackled at the wrists and ankles and wearing prison-issued orange jumpsuits.

The boy's mother, Tonya Victor, 33, was crying. She, along with the boy's stepbrother, Errol Victor Jr., 24, are booked with accessory after the fact to murder.

The boy's stepfather, Erroll Victor Sr., 42, is booked with first degree murder.

An autopsy Wednesday was inconclusive in determining what caused Lloyd's death. Further tests are pending.

The St. John coroner said the boy had widespread bruising on his body, but that the bruises didn't appear to be fatal.

An attorney for the family said Lloyd had a history of "fainting" and that he believes the autopsy will reveal a pre-existing condition that led to his death.

A history of fainting? WTF does that have to do with anything? That poor child deserved better then the trash that was his family. At least now he is in a better place then the hell he must have had to live through in his short life. It always saddens me to see stuff like this...what adults chose to do to other adults is bad enough. But to have a child who should have been happy being a kid was never given that chance. Damn sad.
