Hi from France

Hello All,

I'm 33 y.o french police detective working for the french National Police in a big city P.D in east of France; near the German border, and I'm currently assigned at the Vice Division. I'm cop since 12 years now, I began my career in Paris where I worked there the first 4 years before I asked to be transfered. I've had lots of assignements during these years, day patrol shift, night patrol shift, night street crime unit (in plain clothes), and I moved naturally to invesgatives units, like "Urban Violences Investigation Unit" and Vice now.

I'm really happy to be here, i'm sure that i'll enjoy! )
Best regards, stay safe!

ChouB
(and sorry for my bad english...)

Welcome to LEF!!! Always good to see LEO's from another country register. Private message Reca about gaining access to the private, Verified LEO only area.

Bienvenue choubacca! It's amazing that someone from a non-Anglophone country found this forum. How did you hear about it? Comment avez-vous entendu parler de ce forum?

And not that it's my place to deal with these matters, but I'm wondering how the moderators can verify someone from France. Do any of the moderators speak French? Is hilarity going to ensue when they call up a French police department and try to talk to them using some combination of English and broken French?

If I can verify someone from NYC then French is no problem for some of the mods. My southern accent and the NY accent was always a good laugh

Their's more involved to a verification on LEF than a phone call to a station. Wish I could say the same for PoliceOne, who recently verified an LEO.......nevermind.

Anyway, we're obviously not going to give away the secrets of the verification world, in order to protect the integrity of the site's LEO only area.

Thanx all for your welcome, it's great to hear.

I knew this forum through Terminator's post on Glock Talk forum where i'm (with another nickname) -

And I already sent a MP to Reca for the "verified LEO" forums access, and yes, I suppose that's easy for the moderators to verify if i'm a real cop - as asked, I gave my (french) direct phone number from my P.D, and I have a governemental e-mail adress too, so, easy for them to verify...

Thanks again all,
Best regards,
ChouB

I have a contact in the Gendarmerie an Inspector Clouseau; if he can’t get to the bottom of this no one can.

Welcome! I'm corresponding with another French Cop that I'm trying to get to come over here, so maybe you'll have company soon.

A Smile

A smile cost nothing, but gives so much.

It enriches those who receive it,
without making poorer those who give.
It takes but a moment, but the memory
of it sometimes lasts forever.

None is so rich or mighty that he
can get along without it,
and none is so poor but that
he can be made rich by it.

A smile creates happiness in the home,
fosters goodwill in business,
and is the countersign of friendship.

It brings rest to the weary,
cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad,
and it is nature's best antidote for trouble.

Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed,
or stolen, for it is something that is of no
value to anyone until it is given away.

Some people are too tired to give you a smile.
Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile
so much as he who has no more to give.
