This has been happening all over TX. We just got a letter from TXDOT about the cloned vehicles. This ins't the first guy to get busted. They have made several of these busts all over TX.

We have a local car lot that sells left over and high mileage Caltrans trucks that have been replaced by new ones. They haven't even bothered to repaint them. Caltrans pickups are painted a bright solid orange, like a dark pumpkin color. Only a matter of time before the drug transporters try this here. If they haven't already.

Good job. I bet he made plenty of LOADS. The last guy I caught was in a ford F-250 FX4 double cab full of dope also. He said he made about 80 runs with in the last 3 years at 25 G's each run.
Oh yea the total weight was 2,583 lbs in JIM HOGG County TEXAS.

Nice catch...I always knew somewhere, someone would think of something like that. Think about all the other vehicles that can be easily duplicated...school buses, trash trucks, even police cars. Crazy stuff...

As I said criminals are stupid. Drug dealers are not your average criminal. If you could see all the electronic and computer equipment they have here and all the web sites they monitor and all the things they learn about their "enemy"--the police--you'd be amazed. Some of the plans for getting drugs into the States are based on the prejudices of LEO. And it works, that's what's so scary. I'll bet that behind these guys and their trucks is some narco from one of the cartels here.
