What a Bitch !!!
I am sorry and frustrated. I served for 35 years on a large Metro Police Dept in the midwest. I did MORE than my share of bitching and complaining in my years on the department but learned early on that it didn't get me anywhere and didn't get anything done!!
I then got involved in our Police Association and became a Rep and then on an At Large member. I then became the Vice-Pres and Chairman of the Legal Committee to assist officers in getting legal representation and also assist in suing the dept or class lawsuits, etc., etc. I was well aware that this alone stopped any future promotions of special assignments but felt it was needed. I spent half my career involved in the Association and hope to believe I and other Assoc Board Members were somewhat instrumental in bettering the conditions for the officers.
Now, I feel that I EARNED the right to bitch because I got out there and tried to better conditions surrounding our members but I also strongly feel, 'If you are NOT part of the Solution, then you have to be part of the problem!'
So, before you bitch, get out and get involved and try to correct the problem(s) that you are angered about.
That is just my 2 cents and opinion !!
You ALL take care and be safe out there!!
