I was just thinking, because we DID win the war, shouldn't the phrase be "Proper American," rather than "Proper English?"

It doesn't so much bother me as it does you to say shortly later, but it does sound goofy. As for the "in color", I try to say blue toyota corolla, but sometimes I forget to put the color in front like that. Therefore, I will sometimes say a toyota corolla, blue in color, just so I don't have to make a white out correction. Our supervisors don't care as long as you get the info in.

Like us as a people our language is a mixture of languages and cultures, alot of it, god forbid comes from french, oh the pain!!
