Messed with the wrong guy
Written by Mark Nichols
It's a tale that warms the hearts of concealed carry proponents everywhere. In Sacramento, California, two men described as in their early 20's, white, large and most likely intoxicated, decided to have some fun recently. According to an article in the Sacramento Bee, witnesses say that the two individuals first tried to pick a fight with a valet parking attendant. Then they mooned the patrons at an upscale restaurant through the window. But they were just getting started. The pair then crossed the street to the Broiler restaurant, where they entered the building and again started trouble, police and witnesses said. In short, these two were looking for a fight.
Instead one of them got shot.
As the two men left the Broiler, the men touched one of several human-sized cat figurines belonging to a jazz band that was playing on the patio just outside the restaurant.
A band member told the men to knock it off. By this point the two marauders had created enough of a commotion that people were getting involved.
A homeless man in his early 20s confronted the two men about their behavior.
They promptly beat him up according to Sgt. Norm Leong, police spokesman for the Sacramento P.D.
As the homeless Good Samaritan was being beaten, a waiter stepped in and tried to break it up.
He got assaulted as well.
The band member that had tried the diplomatic route before tried to help and the two men went after him.
That was a mistake- big one.
The band member pulled a pistol and shot one of the assailants, Leong said.
Sgt. Leong went on to say that said the man suspected of firing the gun was not arrested.
He said police would refer the case to the District Attorney's Office to determine if he shot in self-defense and whether charges are merited against anybody in the case.
The band member, whom police did not identify, was detained but not charged.
The wounded man was taken to an area hospital with multiple gunshots to his upper body, police said.
His condition was serious but stable at the time this was written.
Needless to say, patrons of the two restaurants continued to eat and sip drinks as police outside cordoned off the K Street mall, questioned witnesses and searched for shell casings.

Stories about bad guys getting shot by armed citizens should be printed more often.

The sad part is that they'll try to sue the guy that stopped these jerks!
For the morning will come. Brightly will it shine on the brave and true, kindly upon all who suffer for the cause, glorious upon the tombs of heroes. Thus will shine the dawn.

No. It seldom is over something as complicated as that. This is the simple excuse.
early 20's, white, large and most likely intoxicatedThey brought violence to an otherwise peaceful situation. Hopefully a lesson has been learned. Don't come to a gun fight armed only with stupidity. Law abiding citizens have a right to defend themselves. In short, these two were looking for a fight.Do not war for peace. If you must war, war for justice. For without justice there is no peace. -me
