Immigration activists and crime E-mail
Written by Mark Nichols

What do Shawna Forde, J.T. Ready and Chris Simcox have in common? The answer to the riddle is that they’re all anti-immigration activists and they’re all in or have been in trouble with the law. Simcox, 52, is the co-founder of the Minutemen civilian border patrol group. He’s been arrested  and booked into a Maricopa County jail in connection with the molestation of three girls under the age of 10, said Sergeant Tommy Thompson, a Phoenix police spokesman.

Simcox has denied the allegations to police. It was not known if he had an attorney.

He faces two counts each of child molestation and sexual conduct with a minor, and one count of attempted child molestation.

A former kindergarten teacher from California, Simcox co-founded the civilian border patrol outfit  to highlight what he said was the government's failure to secure the porous southwest border with Mexico.

After infighting and criminal allegations the Minutemen disbanded in 2010.

Shawna Forde is doing time for murder after authorities determined that she was robbing drug dealers to fund her operations.

In one of those robberies a young girl and her mother were murdered.

J.T. Ready was a popular figure in anti-immigration politics until he shot and killed his girlfriend, her daughter and granddaughter, the daughter's fiancée and himself.
