WTF people? E-mail

If you’re a police chief or sheriff at a large agency, you know that keeping track of what it is that all of your people are up to can be a daunting challenge. But just imagine what it’s like at an agency with more than 250,000 employees. According to a recent article posted on the website Gawker, Ayo Kimathi works as a small business specialist for the Department of Homeland Security.
When he goes home, he allegedly runs a website called War on the Horizon. It’s basically like a Stormfront for homophobic black nationalists.

Kimathi typically posts descriptions of President Obama as "a treasonous mulatto scum dweller … who will fight against reparations for Black people in amerikkka, but in favor of fag rights for freaks in amerikkka and Afrika."

That’s right- we’re all paying hard-earned tax dollars to employ a black nationalist homophobe with a radical website.

The Southern Poverty Law Center recently published a report about Kimathi, who goes by the name "Irritated Genie" online, describing him as “a gay-bashing, revenge-seeking black nationalist who advocates on his website – War on the Horizon – the mass murder of whites and the 'ethnic cleansing' of 'black-skinned Uncle Tom race traitors.' "

Most of the time hate-monger hustlers are pretty easy to get a read on. But not Ayo Kimathi. This guy's about 48 cards short of a full deck.

Targets of Kimathi's rage include, among others, Rev. Al Sharpton, Lil Wayne, Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg, President Obama, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, "the smallhates (white so-called ‘jews’) and the white homos like Gay Edgar Hoover.”

Kimathi's co-workers at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement told the SPLC that “everyone in the office is afraid of him."

“This guy is filled with hate,” a former supervisor said. “People are afraid he will come in with a gun someday and go postal. I am astounded, he’s employed by the federal government, let alone Homeland Security.”

Here’s the kicker- Kimathi, like all Homeland Security employees engaged in “outside activities,” had to have the website approved by his superiors. His former supervisor said Kimathi described the site as a place to host entertainment videos and sell concert tickets.

But who has time to click a link or do a Google search these days?

“If he had adequately and truthfully described his group,” the former supervisor said, “I can’t imagine for a minute he would have been granted permission.”

So what did this black-power radical actually do at ICE for DHS?

Kimathi’s former supervisor said among his duties at DHS and ICE is speaking at various vendor events. In other words he’s a public face of the agency and an ambassador to the business community for DHS.

“He’s one of the agency’s public faces. It is his job to advocate for small business owners “white, black, historically disadvantaged, disabled veteran-owned, everybody. He’s very suave. It’s almost as if he has a split personality,” the supervisor said.

Needless to say the folks at DHS and ICE are learning about all this now just like everyone else.

Gillian Christensen, the deputy press secretary at Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, emailed the following statement to Gawker after they posted the story.

"ICE does not condone any type of hateful rhetoric or advocacy of violence of any kind against anyone. Every ICE employee is held to the highest standard of professional and ethical conduct.

Accusations of misconduct are investigated thoroughly and if substantiated, appropriate action is taken.”

Seasoned observers of the management practices at DHS probably won’t be holding their breath waiting for the appropriate actions to be taken.
