Crooks and liars E-mail
Written by Mark Nichols

According to the Washington Post, a string of thefts in the halls of power in the nation’s capitol were serious enough for the Capitol police to stage a sting to try and nab the thief.Throughout the Rayburn House Office Building police placed two envelopes. One was marked “birthday money,” the other “petty cash.” Both envelopes were put in desk drawers of former Rep. Michele “Crazy Eyes” Bachmann’s (R-Minn.) chief of staff and scheduler.

U.S. Capitol Police said a hidden camera clearly captured footage of a man picking up one of the envelopes from the chief of staff’s desk, counting the money and taking it.

Three minutes later, police said the same man was seen sitting at the scheduler’s desk. Both envelopes were reporting missing, according to court documents.

Police arrested Bachmann’s legislative assistant, Javier Sanchez, 37, of Arlington, Virginia and charged him with one count of misdemeanor theft.

It’s nice to know that the people that work for crooks and liars in Congress are such upstanding citizens.
