Time for Turkey and Football E-mail

One of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions is sharing what I am most thankful for. Most people  consider their health, the blessings of the past year and most importantly — their friends and family. Too often, America’s law enforcement officers — who work tirelessly to protect our communities — are not shown enough thanks or appreciation.

That's especially true around the holidays when they are called upon to sacrifice time with their families in order to serve and protect.

Many Americans will spend Thanksgiving with their loved ones, watching, or perhaps playing one of America's favorite sports: football.

NFL Analyst James Brown took time this Thanksgiving to record a special message honoring all of America’s law enforcement officers and supporting the National Law Enforcement Museum. Currently under construction in Washington, DC, the Museum will tell the stories of America's law enforcement officers — and our fallen heroes.

“...But we know the real heroes are the men and women of law enforcement who strap a gun to their side, put a badge over their heart and put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe.” - James Brown

This Thursday, keep the more than 800,000 men and women currently serving as law enforcement officers, the 19,298 officers killed in the line of duty and the friends and families they left behind in your thoughts as we celebrate Thanksgiving.
