America's Most Wanted, television's top crime-fighting show, with generous support from Sprint, is once again asking law enforcement officers around the country to nominate someone they know who has gone above and beyond the call of duty to serve and protect. It's the sixth annual America's Most Wanted (AMW) All-Star Contest, where the public gets to vote for the first responder they deem worthy of winning the top prize. Any first-responder is eligible and the nomination process is simple: Go to AMW.com and fill out a short online form naming a first-responder and explaining what makes this person an All-Star.

Last year, Americans selected Peoria, Arizona Detective William Weigt, as their AMW All-Star. While conducting a high-risk stop, following a drug related shooting, Weight was shot. He awoke three days later to find that he was paralyzed from the chest down. Weight bravely continues service as an investigator in the robbery unit, delivers motivational speeches and organizes fundraising events for officers killed in the line of duty.

John Walsh of America's Most wanted said, "AMW is now in its 23rd season. During that time I've been blessed with the opportunity to work with some truly amazing people. With each passing year, my respect only grows for all the police, firefighters, EMTs, and other first responders who dedicate themselves to serving the public on the front lines. These brave men and women are truly All-Stars in my book.

"For the sixth year in a row, we've teamed up with Sprint to find a way to honor these amazing people, by creating the AMW All-Star Awards. Through online voting, we'll recognize one All-Star Finalist each week for eight weeks. Each Finalist will receive a special selection of AMW gear, and will be entered in the voting for the grand prize: $10,000 and a trip to the NASCAR SPRINT Cup Series™ All-Star Challenge in May.

You can nominate any first responder All-Star you know at our website, www.amw.com/allstar, beginning on February 3rd, 2010. Our website will include information about every accepted nominee. Be sure to get the word out to your community - anyone can nominate an All-Star candidate, and anyone can vote for their favorite All-Star.

Nominations are open until April 3rd, 2010 and voting for our finalists runs until April 11th; Grand Prize winner voting will run from April 15th to May 3rd. Voters will select eight weekly finalists on line, and each finalist will be profiled on America's Most Wanted (Saturdays, 9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT on FOX).

Through online votes, the public will choose the grand-prize winner. In May, AMW Host John Walsh will present the 2010 AMW All-Star with a check for $10,000 at the NASCAR SPRINT Cup Series™ All-Star Challenge at Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Nominations are open at AMW.com until noon on April 3, 2010. Members of the public may vote for their favorite first responder once a day, every day. Voting for finalists candidates runs through midnight April 11th. Grand-prize winner voting will run April 15th through May 3rd.
