It's hard to understand how some people are so comfortable living in total filth. Police in Queens New York were sure there was a "sudden" on the other side of a door they were about to break down after being almost knocked out by a god-awful; smell. It was most likely a corpse. But what the cops found was more disgusting than any cadaver.
When firefighters and police called to the scene broke down the door at the apartment in Ravenswood Houses in Long Island City, they saw tenant Ming Li Sung.
He was alive and well considering his residence was jammed with decomposing trash piled from the floor to the ceiling, according to the New York Daily News.
"When they started trying to clear away some of the trash to get in, he popped up inside, yelling, 'Get out! Get out!" Ray West, who lives across the hall, told the paper.
The squalor was so bad that firefighters called in a Hazmat team.
There were literally thousands of cockroaches.
First responders started to remove some of the trash composed of rotting, wet garbage in grocery bags and heaps of debris piled throughout the home.
It was too much to bear for anyone except Mr. Sung.. "The police were throwing up," West told the News.
The 69-year-old tenant was transported to Elmhurst Hospital Center for a psychiatric evaluation, police told the News.
Sadly he doesn't face any charges for living in what those at the scene described as more of a landfill than a residence. Add this page to your favorite Social Bookmarking websites
