COPS WALK 2010 E-mail

COPS

A physical challenge, an emotional high, and the opportunity to help C.O.P.S.

The 6th annual COPS Walk will bring together 125 survivors and members of the law enforcement community to take on the challenge of walking 25 miles in two days. All registered walkers are asked to raise $1,000 to support Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.). To help the dedicated walkers reach this goal visit www.razoo.com/story/Cops-Walk-2010 and read the law enforcement survivors' inspirational stories and why they are raising funds for the COPS Walk.

The COPS Walk will be held October 9-10, 2010, along the scenic and historic C&O Canal from Virginia through Maryland and into West Virginia, with participants walking 12.5 miles a day. The goal is to raise funds to ensure that C.O.P.S. continues helping those who have lost a loved one in the line of duty and provide the programs that help those families rebuild their shattered lives. The walk is designed to give participants a physical challenge as well as the opportunity to spend time with other survivors and friends walking in memory of loved ones.

This year, Sleep Walkers, those who just can't "get out of bed" to be there, are welcomed. They are asked to raise $1,000. Sleep Walkers will receive the COPS Walk 2010 gift, a pillow case for their bed, and the personal satisfaction of knowing they are helping to rebuild shattered lives.

Joshua Campbell's brother, Officer Jason Campbell with the Greenville (NC) Police Department, was killed in the line of duty on April 14, 2007. Joshua will be attending COPS Walk 2010 for his third year. "COPS Walk is one of my favorite weekends of the year because I reunite with a great group of people, both survivors and law enforcement. The weekend gives us a chance to reflect on what's important in life, share the memories of our loved ones, and build lasting friendships. While honoring Jason's memory, I have been fortunate to meet so many wonderful people. It is important to honor the memory of our officers and to remember the families left behind," said Joshua.
